"That Toddling Town..."

This weekend we went into Chicago to hang with our good friends, the newly wed Greg and Aster. We started our morning by showering, running around naked in our rooms and applying yummy Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion so as to achieve a sweet, fresh scent (hoping to impress our friends.)

We then picked up Greg and Aster at their hotel in Chicago and headed over to the Shedd Aquarium where, believe it or not, teachers get in free! What a deal! Here we sit on a bench (oh how we love seats that do not include restraining devices) reading Shedd Aquarium literature.

Once we knew just where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, we walked/ran through many cool exhibits including the new Wild Reef shark exhibit, which was really neat. We displayed perfect aquarium etiquette by pointing, squealing and yelling out our own versions of "fish" at each window of watery magic. We also enjoyed watching sea turtles swim....

and further enjoyed petting and kissing the drier, less mobile turtles.

Below, we observe a "swimming lizard" ( amagomundi loses points for inaccuracy....we were rather focused on not losing the boy) who seemed to like our attention.

And here we watch and wait for more sharks and stingrays to pass by. Dad will keep us safe.

On our way to the car (and later, some deep-dish pizza) Greg, Aster and amagomundi staff member strike a frozen pose amid the brisk, gray, end-of-February scene. Bring on Spring!

By the time we got home, boy were we pooped! It was time to kick back, relax and dream of oceans unexplored.
